Gulf Musician Idol Competition aim is to provide young musicians with the opportunity to per form and share their musical achievement and creativity, unite the music institutions from the Gulf countries.

Harmony Music Center has been hosting the Musician Idol Competition for the young performers from across Bahrain since 2014. In 2020 the Musician Idol Competition became international. The circle of participating countries was widened and contestants from the Gulf countries UAE, Kuwait, Qatar & Oman have joined the and was renamed to the Gulf Musician Idol Competition.

The students of all ages and different performance levels can join the Competition.

The performances of both Qualification Round and Grand Final are streamed on HMC YouTube Channel.

Olena Osika

Olena Osika is the Head judge, an internationally established piano teacher & performer, accompanist, founder of Musician Idol Competition, founder & owner of Harmony Music Center – one of the leading Music Institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Ms. Olena has graduated from Regional Music College in Ukraine and Kharkov State Academy of Culture and obtained Bachelor’s Degree in music art and Master’s Degree in Social Pedagogue.

Olha Kochura

Olha Kochura graduated S.S. Hulak-Artemovsky Music College and continued her higher music education in I.P. Kotlyarevsky University of Arts in Kharkov, where she possessed Master’s Degree with honor and obtained qualifications “accompanist, chamber ensemble performer, piano teacher of a higher school institution, researcher”.

She started her professional career in 2010 and was working as a piano teacher and accompanist in Specialized Music Boarding School and different music schools in Kharkov and was working as a head of pedagogical practice department at University of Arts (2010-2016).

Lisdeivys Almea

Lisdeivys Almea studied the Clarinet, Saxophone and Flute at the Havana University of Arts. After a period of freelance playing, she concentrated on a teaching career. She has been teaching in various music institutions of Cuba and Dubai before her arrival in the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as performed in a multiple event as a solo saxophone and clarinet player.

Conditions of entry

The contestants are required to submit the video recording of their performance for participation in the Qualification Round. Upon competing in Qualification Rounds selected contestants will proceed to the Grand Final where they will compete for awards. The Grand Final will be held in a live performance online through the meeting in zoom application.

Filming Guidelines

These guidelines provide instructions on how to film a contestant’s digital performance that is required to be presented by each participant for the Qualification Rounds.
The video recording must be made and uploaded to any cloud based online storage (Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, FileCloud etc.).
